Grab some clay, get comfy, whack on your favourite tunes and start creating. Mugs, jugs, bowls, vases and pretty much anything you can imagine you'll be able to craft with 3kg of handbuilding clay. We're so excited for you to get messy.
Each kit comes in a simple black cardboard box and with a set of tools to get you going.
Please note you can select between ceramic clay (needs firing in a kiln) or air drying clay. There are pros and cons of each option. Put simply though: if it’s a functional piece you want to make- like a cup or vase then definitely go with the ceramic clay, once it’s fired it will be watertight. Once you’ve created your masterpiece(s) get in touch and we’ll get it fired for you if you’re in the Canberra region, otherwise you’ll have to find a potter or ceramics community near you to fire your work.
The Air drying clay is perfect for sculptural work that won’t be getting wet. Once dried for 24h+ you can paint it and enjoy! Unfortunately air drying clay, even once sealed with paint is not food/liquid safe and not as strong as ceramics.
